This particular unit does not have an internal amplifier. I connected it via RCA pre-amp outputs only.

The unit worked great when removed from my vehicle about 12 years ago, and has been stored since. I verified functionality of the remote 12v output, it does read discs, tuner works, and I was able to get a voltage reading from all pre-outs.
